6 weeks | Google Classroom | beginner writers + beyond | starts Monday 18th January 2027 (modules go online Monday morning; log in whenever during the week suits)
This 6-week course is for writers working in short prose forms - stories, essays - who may or may not have previous workshop experience. Each week there will be a particular prompt intended to generate a piece of writing (usually under 2,000 words) along with an example/reading material taken from contemporary Irish literature.
The focus is on generating new material, and receiving tailored, constructive feedback on these pieces of work to help you develop them further, and to improve your writing craft in general. (No workshopping of other participants’ work is required.) The course is conducted via a private online classroom.
